Established in 2003 by the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department, Five Keys Schools and Programs is the first charter school in the nation to operate inside a county jail. With over 70 locations across California, this nonprofit organization is dedicated to providing accredited education and support services to transitional age youth and adults.

Five Keys serves over 15,000 individuals annually, including those in 17 county jails across 14 counties. By offering free adult education and various support services, Five Keys empowers individuals to change their lives and contribute positively to their communities.
