Our Story
The Fishkill Historical Society was founded in 1962 by dedicated local residents committed to preserving the rich history of Fishkill and the Van Wyck Homestead. This initiative began as a response to the threat of demolition posed by the construction of a planned cloverleaf exit ramp for Interstate 84 at Route 9. Since the 1970s, the Homestead has served as a historical museum, maintained and operated by passionate volunteers.
