The Fishing School

Our Story

Founded by Tom Lewis in 1990, The Fishing School aims to create real change for youth in Washington, DC. Starting with just five children, the organization has grown to serve over 8,000 students, focusing on education as the key to breaking the cycle of poverty.

Impact

Since its inception, The Fishing School has made significant strides, with 44% of participants improving their math scores and 57% improving their reading scores during the 2022-23 academic year. The organization provides a safe environment for children to learn and grow, emphasizing STEAM education and life skills development.
