Our Story

Founded in 1977 by Judge David Soukup in Seattle, CASA began as a response to the urgent need for child advocacy. In 1994, the First Judicial District CASA Association was established in Leavenworth, Kansas, to provide essential services to children and families in Leavenworth and Atchison Counties. Over the years, programs like the Child Exchange and Visit Center and the Child Advocacy Center have been launched, ensuring that every child has a voice in the legal system.

Our Impact

In 2023, CASA made a significant difference in the lives of 39 children through advocacy, facilitated 649 family visits, and supported 150 parents in educational programs. With 1,857 volunteer hours logged, the commitment to child welfare is evident.
