First Graduate

Our Story

Founded in November 2001 by philanthropist Ann-Eve Hazen, First Graduate aims to improve college access for low-income youth in San Francisco. Starting with just 24 8th graders, the organization has expanded its reach to serve hundreds of students, focusing on those from families without a college-going tradition.

Impact

With a remarkable 99% high school graduation rate and 78% college graduation rate within six years, First Graduate significantly outperforms the national average for first-generation students.
