About First District Appellate Project

The First District Appellate Project (FDAP) is a dedicated non-profit law office established in 1985 through a collaboration with the California Court of Appeal – First Appellate District, the Bar Association of San Francisco, and the Administrative Office of the Courts. With a team of over 20 staff members and a panel of approximately 260 attorneys, FDAP is committed to ensuring that justice is accessible to all, particularly for those who cannot afford legal representation.

Impact of FDAP

FDAP fulfills its mission by recruiting and training panel attorneys, matching them to cases, and providing essential resources and direct assistance. This ensures that clients receive competent representation in criminal, juvenile, and civil commitment appeals, contributing to a fair and compassionate justice system.

Why Donate?

Your donations to FDAP play a crucial role in supporting legal representation for indigent clients in critical appeals. Contributions help train and empower attorneys who advocate for the rights of vulnerable populations.
