The First 72+ was founded by six men who have experienced the criminal justice system firsthand. This organization aims to break the cycle of incarceration in Louisiana, which has the highest per capita prison population in the world. Since its inception in 2014, it has expanded from a single transitional house to a comprehensive support system that includes case management, peer mentorship, free legal services, and small business incubation.
Over 4,500 individuals have been supported on their journey home from incarceration, receiving essential services that promote independence and self-sustainability.
