Our Story

Founded in 1997 by Wendy Norris after a career-ending injury, Firefighter Ministries was established to support injured first responders. The organization gained momentum following the tragic death of firefighter Scott Harshbarger in 2000, leading to the creation of the Texas Line of Duty Death Response Team in 2001. This team has since provided invaluable assistance to over two hundred families and departments, ensuring that no first responder's sacrifice goes unrecognized.

Impact

The Texas LODD Task Force has educated over a thousand emergency workers and consulted with hundreds of departments across Texas and beyond, enhancing preparedness and support for those who serve our communities.
