Our Story

The Firefighter Behavioral Health Alliance was founded in 2010 by Jeff Dill, a retired Captain of the Palatine Rural Fire Protection District. This organization is dedicated to educating firefighters and Emergency Medical Services personnel about critical behavioral health issues, including depression, PTSD, anxiety, and addictions. FBHA addresses the alarming rate of firefighter suicides by providing accessible workshops and resources to support firefighters and their families.

Impact

FBHA has successfully developed and implemented various workshops focused on behavioral health awareness and suicide prevention for firefighters and EMS personnel. The organization tracks firefighter and EMS suicides across the U.S. and has expanded its initiatives to include training for Employee Assistance Programs and support for families affected by firefighter suicides.
