Founded in 1981 by Rogene Russell and Charles Price, the Fine Arts Chamber Players, now known as Basically Beethoven, has been a cornerstone of the Dallas arts community. The organization launched the FREE Basically Beethoven Festival, which quickly became Dallas’ premier summer chamber music festival. Over the years, the organization has evolved, but its commitment to providing free access to classical music remains steadfast.

Impact on the Community

Basically Beethoven's mission is to enrich and enhance the quality of life for North Texas-area residents, especially families and children, through free concerts of classical music and educational activities. To date, the organization has served over 250,000 children through educational programs and has performed quality classical music for more than 564,000 North Texas citizens—all completely free of charge.
