Our Story

Founded in 1996 by Deborah Hoffman and Nita Maercks, Funding Arts Network (FAN) emerged from a deep concern for the cultural vitality of Miami-Dade County. Initially known as Fifty Over Fifty, Inc., the organization began with a simple yet powerful idea: gather fifty members to contribute $1,000 annually, creating a sustainable funding pool for the arts. Over the years, FAN has evolved, expanding its mission to support a diverse range of visual and performing arts programs.

Impact

In its 28 years of operation, FAN has awarded over $6.1 million to more than 700 programs presented by 115 local arts organizations. This funding has significantly enriched the cultural landscape and fostered community engagement in the arts.
