About Festival of New Trumpet Music

Founded in August 2003, the Festival of New Trumpet Music launched its inaugural season at Tonic, a New York City venue dedicated to avant-garde and experimental music. Over the years, the festival has grown to include a diverse lineup of trumpeters and composers from various genres, including jazz, classical, and hip-hop. Co-founders Dave Douglas and Roy Campbell, Jr. envisioned a yearly celebration of new trumpet music, which has since evolved into a vibrant community of musicians and audiences.
