Fenway Community Trust
EIN: 22-2745097 · Boston, MA
Our Story
In the late 1950s, Boston's urban renewal efforts threatened the West End community, leading to the demolition of affordable housing. By the early 1970s, the Fenway faced a similar fate. Local residents united to challenge the Fenway Urban Renewal Plan, successfully preserving low-cost housing and forming the Fenway Project Area Committee. In 1973, the Fenway Community Development Corporation was established to continue this vital mission.
Impact
Each year, Fenway CDC enhances the lives of over 2,500 residents, including families, seniors, and formerly homeless individuals, by providing essential services such as affordable housing, education, and food access.
