Founded in 1977, Felines & Canines is one of Chicago’s pioneering cage-less, no-kill cat shelters. Located in the vibrant Edgewater neighborhood, this organization has provided exceptional care for over 200 feline residents, focusing particularly on special needs animals. Under the leadership of Executive Director Abby Smith, Felines Inc. transformed from a modest sanctuary into a bustling adoption center, achieving a remarkable 1000% increase in adoptions from 2002 to 2012.
