Our Story

Since 2005, Feed Spokane has been dedicated to combating hunger by rescuing surplus food that would otherwise go to waste. This initiative began as a collaborative effort among meal site directors, SNAP, and community members, aiming to enhance the quality and quantity of food available for the homeless and food-insecure individuals in Spokane. Inspired by Portland's Fork it Over program, Feed Spokane started rescuing excess prepared food from local restaurants and distributing it to free meal sites in the area.

Our Impact

In 2023 alone, Feed Spokane rescued over ONE MILLION meals, redistributing an average of 35,000 lbs of food each week to local food banks and charitable meal sites. This effort significantly supports families, children, and seniors facing food insecurity in Spokane.
