Feed Lake Highlands

Our Story

In May 2007, The New Room Church and Community Center was established as an outreach of Lake Highlands United Methodist Church, dedicated to serving the apartment communities along the Whitehurst Corridor and beyond. As the ministry grew, so did the awareness of poverty and food insecurity affecting neighbors and friends. In response to this pressing need, Feed Lake Highlands was born in February 2012, starting with the distribution of food to just 15 families.

Our Impact

Since receiving non-profit status in April 2012, Feed Lake Highlands has expanded its reach significantly, now feeding over 450 individuals every Wednesday and providing more than 5,000 meals each week. This remarkable achievement is made possible through the generosity of supporters, volunteers, and dedicated team members.
