Our Story

Founded in 2011, Feed Iowa First has been dedicated to addressing food insecurity in Linn County by cultivating culturally relevant vegetables for underserved communities. This initiative not only meets the food needs of the community but also reduces waste by growing what is needed and wanted.

Impact

Since its inception, Feed Iowa First has donated over 500,000 pounds of fresh, locally grown produce to households and food pantries in Linn County. In 2023 alone, over 46,000 pounds of fresh produce were distributed, serving approximately 45,000 individuals, a significant increase from the previous year.
