Our Story

The Father’s Day/Mother’s Day Council, Inc. was established in 1931 as the Father’s Day Council and later merged with the National Mother’s Day Council in 1978. Over the years, the mission has expanded beyond just celebrating these special days to actively supporting charities that benefit mothers, fathers, and children. The Council has honored numerous exceptional parents, including U.S. presidents, recognizing their invaluable contributions to families and communities.
