Our Story

The Alverno Senior Care Community, established in 1914 by the Sisters of St. Francis, was the first organization in Clinton, Iowa, dedicated to caring for the elderly. Originally named Mount Alverno, the facility has evolved over the decades to meet the changing health care needs of the community. In 1971, a new building was opened, licensed for 125 residents, and renamed The Alverno Health Care Facility. Today, it continues to provide exceptional long-term living options, memory care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation services.
