Our Story
Founded in 1990, the Farmworker Housing Development Corporation (FHDC) emerged from the collaboration of community organizations and individuals dedicated to creating affordable housing for low-income farmworkers. Recognizing the essential role of farmworkers in our economy, FHDC aims to foster leadership and secure families through housing, social services, education, and economic development.
Impact
FHDC understands that adequate housing is just the beginning of breaking the cycle of poverty for farmworker families. Since the establishment of the Cipriano Ferrel Education Center in 2003, FHDC has been committed to providing educational opportunities and leadership training, empowering families to become active community participants.
