Our Story
For over 65 years, Familylinks has been dedicated to serving vulnerable populations in western Pennsylvania. Originally founded in 1956 as the Parent & Child Guidance Center, the organization has evolved to meet the diverse needs of individuals and families. In 1970, The Whale's Tale was established to assist homeless youth and those struggling with addiction. The merger of these organizations in 2001 formed Familylinks, which expanded its services to include the Vintage Center for Active Adults in 2015, all while maintaining a mission to help individuals and families become Strong. For Life.
