Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley

Our Story

Founded in 1986 by Karen Olson, Family Promise began as a local initiative in New Jersey to support families experiencing homelessness. The organization has evolved into a national network, rebranding as Family Promise in 2003 to better reflect its mission of ending family homelessness through community-based solutions.

Impact

Since its inception, Family Promise has successfully housed over 113 families in congregations, 132 families in motels, and provided shelter to 33 families in its interim house since September 2020. Additionally, 28 families have received rental assistance to prevent homelessness, demonstrating a significant impact on local communities.
