Our Story
In the late 1980s, the crisis of family homelessness became evident, with traditional shelters often separating families. Inspired by the first Interfaith Hospitality Network established in New Jersey, Family Promise of Greater Indianapolis was founded in 1994 to keep families together during crises. Since then, it has helped over 1,000 families regain stability through community involvement and volunteerism.
Impact
Family Promise of Greater Indianapolis has successfully assisted over 1,000 families with children, providing shelter and support to help them regain independence. The organization aims to make homelessness rare and recoverable by ensuring families are sheltered on the day they become homeless.
