Family Promise began in 1986 when Karen Olson, inspired by the plight of a homeless woman, connected those in need with local organizations and volunteers. This initiative led to the formation of the Interfaith Hospitality Network, which evolved into Family Promise. Established in January 2020, Family Promise of Escambia County addresses the urgent need for shelter and support for homeless families in the local community.
Since its inception, Family Promise has successfully helped over 88% of families secure permanent housing within just 9 weeks through dedicated case management and community support.
