Founded in 1986 by Karen Olson, Family Promise began as an interfaith hospitality network in New Jersey, inspired by a chance encounter with a homeless woman. Since then, it has grown nationally, with Family Promise of Collin County established in 2011 to focus on helping families in need achieve sustainable independence through community-based responses.
With over 1,700 initiatives developed, Family Promise has provided essential services to thousands of families experiencing homelessness, helping them regain self-sufficiency through innovative programs and community support.
