Our Story

In 2009, a coalition of leaders from various faith communities recognized the urgent need to address family homelessness in Fort Collins. Inspired by Loveland’s Angel House, they sought to expand its mission to their community. By 2011, sixteen congregations had joined forces to provide shelter for families experiencing homelessness, offering a safe haven from 5 PM to 7 AM on a rotating basis. Despite initial challenges in securing funding, the commitment to serve families remained steadfast.

In January 2012, Faith Family Hospitality welcomed its first overnight guest family, quickly realizing the need for daytime support. The Fort Collins Mennonite Fellowship stepped up, transforming into a day shelter in 2014, which included the addition of showers and laundry facilities. By 2015, the day center expanded its hours and services, ensuring that families had access to essential resources throughout the week.

In 2018, the organization rebranded as Family Housing Network to reflect its broader mission. The opening of a new day center in June 2020 marked a significant milestone, alongside the acquisition of a Rapid Rehousing Program, which provided critical support to families in need. The completion of the Sherwood House in 2021 further solidified the commitment to housing vulnerable families, offering them a safe space to rebuild their lives.
