Family Heritage Foundation

Our Story

Founded by Bennett and Idong Ekandem, Family Heritage Foundation was born from the personal experiences of immigrants who faced the challenges of resettling in a new country. Recognizing the struggles of other immigrants and refugees, FHF initiated a free afterschool program aimed at helping refugee children overcome educational barriers. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services to support entire families, including American-born citizens at risk of homelessness. Since 2001, FHF has operated in various locations, providing essential youth and family support services in Clarkston and across Georgia.

Our Impact

Each year, Family Heritage Foundation serves an average of 79 children through free afterschool care and tutorials, while over 116 families receive vital financial and tangible support.
