Our Story
Founded by the late Xavier "X" Bell, Family Freedom Center began its journey in 2015 as Family Freedom Schools under Community Action Duluth. Achieving 501(c)(3) status in 2018, the center has been dedicated to fortifying cultural resilience and addressing the impacts of structural racism and internalized oppression affecting Black families in Duluth.

The Family Freedom Center empowers the Black community by reconstructing cultural and socio-economic narratives, embracing the richness of Black history and identity.
