Our Story

Founded in 1982 by a group of dedicated citizens, Family Crisis Centers emerged to address the urgent need for support in the face of domestic violence. At a time when discussing such issues was considered taboo, this organization stepped forward to provide essential services to victims of abuse and crime. Over the years, Family Crisis Centers has evolved, expanding its services to meet the changing needs of the community.

Impact

With over 49,252 hotline calls answered and 1,903 individuals supported through in-person advocacy, Family Crisis Centers has made a significant impact in Iowa. The organization has provided 15,910 hours of in-person services, ensuring that survivors receive the help they need.
