Our Story

Founded in 1976 by four dedicated clinical social workers, Family and Medical Counseling Service, Inc. (FMCS) has been a beacon of hope for the African American community and other underserved populations. With a commitment to addressing social ills, FMCS has expanded its reach by opening a second location in Seat Pleasant, MD, in 2016. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) since 2012, FMCS provides a comprehensive range of healthcare and support services from birth to end of life.
