Our Story
Founded in 2010 by Andrea James within the federal prison for women in Danbury, CT, Families for Justice as Healing focuses on the critical issues faced by incarcerated mothers and their children. After her release, Andrea relocated the organization to Roxbury, MA, where it has been instrumental in building coalitions and raising awareness about the need for community reinvestment over over-criminalization.
