Our Story
Founded in July 1995 by a group of dedicated families, Families for Effective Autism Treatment - Houston (FEAT-Houston) emerged from the need for local resources to support children with autism spectrum disorders. Initially, parents faced challenges in accessing intensive treatment programs, specifically Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which is recognized as the most effective method for early autism intervention. By sharing information and support, these families created a network that enabled them to establish in-home ABA programs with the guidance of consultants from afar.
Today, FEAT-Houston continues to be a vital resource in the Greater Houston area, providing training for teachers, networking opportunities, and informational meetings for families and professionals. While other autism support groups exist, FEAT-Houston uniquely focuses on the application of ABA techniques, ensuring that families receive the most effective support and resources available.
