Our Story
Founded in 2000 in Baton Rouge, Families and Friends of Louisiana's Incarcerated Children emerged from a collective outrage among parents regarding the juvenile justice system. This grassroots organization aims to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline and advocate for the rights of incarcerated youth and their families.
Impact
FFLIC has played a pivotal role in closing the Tallulah Correctional Center for Youth and championing the Juvenile Justice Reform Act (Act 1225), which transformed Louisiana's juvenile justice landscape. The organization tirelessly advocates for enhanced resources and programs for affected youth and families.
