Our Story

For nearly 55 years, Famicos Foundation has been a beacon of hope in Greater Cleveland. Founded by Sr. Henrietta Gorris, CSA, the organization emerged from the ashes of the Hough riots, dedicated to providing essential needs such as food, clothing, and shelter to families in crisis. With the support of dedicated volunteers, Sr. Henrietta helped rebuild homes and spirits, laying the groundwork for a thriving community.

Our Impact

Today, Famicos Foundation has successfully created over 1,000 apartments and homes for low-wage-earning families, seniors, the chronically homeless, and individuals with disabilities. The organization has evolved into a professional entity with a 14-member Board of Trustees and a dedicated staff of 58 full-time employees, committed to making a difference in the neighborhoods served.
