On June 26th, 2010, a tragic accident took the life of nine-year-old Fajr Javid during a family camping trip in Connecticut. Fajr was a bright and compassionate girl, whose last act of kindness was giving her life jacket to another camper. In her memory, the Fajr Memorial Foundation was established in August 2011 to honor her legacy and prevent similar tragedies.
The Fajr Memorial Foundation is dedicated to preventing drowning, which claims approximately 760 young lives each year. Drowning is the second leading cause of death for children aged 5-14.
