Our Story
Founded in 2013, Faith in New York emerged from the efforts of Queens Congregations United for Action and Brooklyn Congregations United. In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, members united to advocate for policies that would rebuild affected areas, particularly for low-income New Yorkers and communities of color. Recognizing the interconnectedness of issues like affordable housing, mass incarceration, and immigration reform, clergy leaders transitioned to a citywide structure, adopting the name 'Faith in New York' to amplify their prophetic vision for change across all five boroughs.
