Faith in Action East Bay

Our Story

Since 1972, Faith in Action East Bay has been a catalyst for systemic change, racial justice, and economic equity in Oakland and the surrounding areas. With a renewed focus on regional impact, FIAEB is dedicated to building power throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties.

Impact

FIAEB has made significant strides in improving community well-being. The organization successfully collected over 5,000 signatures to qualify the Schools and Communities initiative for the November 2020 ballot. Gun violence in Oakland has been reduced by half since 2012, and a Police Accountability Commission has been established to oversee the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department. Additionally, FIAEB organizes immigration and naturalization clinics, providing essential services and Know Your Rights information to thousands.
