Countering Islamophobia
Fostering Community Understanding
Building Relationships Across Diverse Backgrounds

Our Story

In response to the tragic bombing of the Islamic Center of Columbia, Tennessee in 2008, the Faith & Culture Center was established with the support of the William and Mary Greve Foundation. The center was created to implement the Our Muslim Neighbor Initiative, aimed at combating Islamophobia through relationship building. By fostering connections among diverse communities, FCC rewrites the narrative of fear and hate into one of understanding and friendship.

Our Impact

Through the Our Muslim Neighbor Initiative, FCC creates intentional spaces for Nashvillians to engage with their Muslim neighbors. This initiative promotes understanding, appreciation, and cooperation across faiths, races, cultures, and ethnicities. The relationships built through these interactions are vital to achieving a vision of Nashville where trust and friendship thrive among all residents.
