Physical Fitness and Health

Our Story

Fa’atasi Youth Services Inc. began its journey in 2011, focusing on preserving Polynesian culture through engaging summer programs. Initially collaborating with Camp Unit and P.I.C.P., the organization taught Samoan language, dances, and cultural practices to over 200 youths aged 5-18. After a hiatus due to the pandemic, the program was revitalized in 2021, shifting its focus to physical fitness and wellness for Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander youth. Collaborating with the Samoan Community Development Center’s Pacific Islanders Youth Alliance, Fa’atasi now offers athletic activities and community engagement through Open Family Gym nights.

Impact

Fa’atasi Youth Services is dedicated to improving the health and fitness of Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander youth in San Francisco. The organization successfully raised $10,000 during its first Annual Walk for Fitness, honoring the legacy of Paul Noa, the beloved Board President.
