The Extra Mile was founded in 1991 as a dedicated nonprofit organization serving the mental health community. Initially focused on clients from the Office of Behavioral Health, it has since expanded to address the needs of families through the Department of Children and Family Services. By assessing community needs, The Extra Mile creates impactful programs while fostering a strong volunteer network.
