Exodus Transitional Community

Our Story

Founded in March 1999 by Julio Medina, Exodus Transitional Community has transformed from a humble one-room office into a multi-location justice organization. With the support of dedicated volunteers and generous donors, Exodus now serves over 3,000 New Yorkers annually, providing essential services for adults and youth affected by the justice system.

Impact

Exodus has positively impacted the lives of over 25,000 individuals, both inside prisons and during their re-entry into society. With a passionate team of nearly 50 staff members, 90% of whom are formerly justice-involved, the organization embodies the spirit of 'Wounded Healers'—using personal experiences to foster healing in others.
