Our Story

The Evangelical Child & Family Agency (ECFA) was founded in 1946 after a newborn was discovered abandoned at the Moody Bible Institute. Recognizing the urgent need for a Christian agency to support women facing unplanned pregnancies and to provide loving homes for children in need, a dedicated committee was formed. By June 1950, ECFA had already welcomed fourteen children into its care. In 1981, the agency relocated to Wheaton, Illinois, and expanded its reach with a Wisconsin office in 1984. Today, ECFA continues to serve hundreds of children and families, addressing their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs from a biblical perspective.
