Founded in 1986, Essex CHIPS (Community Health Initiatives & Programs for Students) began as a grassroots effort by local volunteers in Essex, Vermont. Recognizing the need for a safe, substance-free environment for youth, the Essex Teen Center was established in 1997. In 2004, the Teen Center merged with the Community Wellness Committee to form Essex CHIPS, which now offers a variety of programs and services aimed at supporting local youth and their families.
For over thirty-five years, Essex CHIPS has played a vital role in delivering substance abuse prevention campaigns and promoting healthy living among youth in the Essex area.
