In 1974, the ESG Foundation was established to create a safe and enjoyable camping environment for children, youth, and adults with special needs. Recognizing the need for such a space, a dedicated team formed under the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church. This initiative led to the successful launch of Special Camps, which continues to thrive today.
