Our Story
The Eritrean Community Cultural and Civic Center of Georgia has been a beacon of hope and resilience since the early 1980s, when the first wave of Eritrean refugees arrived in the Greater Atlanta area. These pioneers sought safety and opportunity, and through their hard work, they became integral members of the community. Over the decades, their descendants have thrived in various fields, including education, medicine, and business, while maintaining a strong connection to their Eritrean roots.
Today, the Center serves as a vibrant hub for the Eritrean community, offering support to new immigrants, promoting educational goals for youth, and providing a gathering space for Eritrean-Americans of all generations. Through cultural programs, language classes, and community events, the Center fosters understanding and cooperation between different cultures, ensuring that the unique Eritrean identity continues to thrive in harmony with the broader American society.
