Our Story
Founded in 1994 as part of the Erie City School District, the Erie Family Center became an independent nonprofit in 2017. This organization is dedicated to supporting families through every stage of their parenting journey, ensuring that every family has access to the resources they need to thrive. By removing barriers to service access, all programs are offered free of charge to Pennsylvania residents.
Bilingual staff provide parent education courses in both English and Spanish, with translation services available for other languages upon request. To facilitate full engagement, transportation, child care, and meals are provided for select programs. The highly trained staff lead a variety of programs, including Parents as Teachers, The Incredible Years, 1-2-3 Magic, Motherhood Support Initiative, Families in Recovery, and 24/7 DAD. These programs are available in-home, at community centers, or in family-friendly facilities, offering flexible options for families to receive the support they need.
