Our Story

Equation Collaborative was founded in April 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, aiming to tackle the rising food insecurity affecting families in the San Diego area. The organization initiated a pilot project to enhance school nutrition programs by providing boxes of nutrient-rich foods to students and their families. With initial funding from a foundation sponsor, this project evolved into the +BOX initiative, which successfully donated over 8,500 boxes containing more than 35,000 servings of food by the end of 2020.

Impact

In 2020, +BOX made a significant impact by delivering over 8,500 boxes of fresh, healthy food to food-insecure families in collaboration with three local school districts.
