Our Story

Founded in 1977 by compassionate members of St. Martin’s By-the-Lake Episcopal Church, Episcopal Group Homes was established to address the needs of individuals with mild to moderate disabilities. The founders recognized a gap in publicly financed programs and sought to create a nurturing and educational environment. The first home, Shadyway, was donated and transformed into a residence for six adults with developmental disabilities. Today, EGH continues to provide professional support and care, helping families transition their loved ones into a residential setting.
