Our Story

Environmental Learning for Kids (ELK) was founded in 1996 by two wildlife biologists who recognized the urgent need to educate Colorado’s underrepresented youth about science, math, leadership, and career opportunities. ELK believes that every young person deserves strong educational support and opportunities for positive community action.

Impact

Each year, ELK serves over 6,500 underserved youth aged 5-25 through year-round programs in Denver, Adams, and Arapahoe Counties. By collaborating with local schools and community groups, ELK fosters a diverse community of environmental stewards and engaged citizens.

Why Donate?
