Engedi Refuge: A Safe Haven for Survivors
Founded by Aaron and Lea Newcomb in 2013, Engedi Refuge is dedicated to combating sex trafficking in the United States. With backgrounds in construction and office management, and decades of ministry experience, the Newcombs recognized the urgent need for support services for victims of sexual exploitation. After years of research and preparation, they opened Engedi Refuge in Northwest Washington State, creating a therapeutic residential program that has become one of the most effective in the country.
Engedi Refuge has grown to include three homes for program participants, a counseling center, and a learning center, all staffed by trained professionals and dedicated volunteers. The organization collaborates with local and national agencies, forming the National Trafficking Sheltered Alliance (NTSA) to enhance support for survivors across the nation.
